Every child is a different kind of flower, and all together, they make this world a beautiful garden. Happy Children’s Day! We all celebrated the Children’s Day Celebration with great joy and greatness at St. Mary’s Convent Matric Hr. Sec. School, Annur Campus.
On Independence Day, people are overflowing with patriotism. It unites people and gives them the feeling that, despite our many distinct languages, faiths, and cultural traditions, we are one nation. Unity in diversity is India’s main essence and strength. We are proud to be citizens of the world’s largest democratic country, where ordinary people have authority. Because it marks the end of British rule, Independence Day is a joyous occasion for the country. It draws individuals from all walks of life from all over the country together. The core path and strength of India is unity in diversity. We are proud to be citizens of the world’s largest majority-rule country, where democracy reigns supreme.
Our freedom fighters’ struggle reveals that the freedom we now enjoy is earned at the cost of the lives of hundreds of individuals. Every Indian citizen is instilled with patriotism as a result of it. It acquaints the current generation with India’s liberation fighters and helps them comprehend the sufferings of those around them.
The celebrations began with the Morning Prayer, followed by variety of fun filled activities ,games ,movies and a Cultural programme planned by the teachers for the children where the teachers sang and danced out of love for their beloved students.

Sports day is a typical event generally held once a year in all schools. Most of the students participate and they are marked by different grades. Many times we see parents at our school on ‘Sports Day’ wishing they themselves could take part. We include races and different games on our ‘Sports Day’. Our school students excel at various levels at District, State and National by participating in different games as Rope Skipping, Football, Kabaddi, Table Tennis and Judo.
We believe that play enhances every aspect of child’s development and learning. In fact, it is child’s window to the external world and forms the foundation of social, intellectual, physical and emotional skills that are requisite for success in school as well as life.
The very idea of including play, in required ratio with the academics, fulfills the prime objective of enriching students with creativity and thinking skills. To accomplish this, we allow students to explore different environments by providing them playfields and facilities for basketball, Cricket, Swimming, etc.
Apart from giving students opportunities, we foster their level of confidence with words of appreciation along with prizes and awards at events organised in the school.
Our Student Tamilarasi of Std Xll won a silver medal in the National Track Cycling held at Guwhati on 12th December. Purushottam of Std Xll also won 8th place in the same event.
St Mary's Convent School in Annur is a response of this society to the educational needs of the people of Annur. Our school begun its journey in the year 1996.
